Lastly, almost everything in the wedding room was red, red, red. A red carpet lay on the floor by the front door. Red papers fully covered the four wooden walls. Red balloons tied with red threads hung irregularly from the wooden ceiling. A red dressing table stood boldly in a corner. There were red burning candles, red plastic flowers in red twin vases, a round mirror with a red frame, and a red box of girly things with a red comb on the top. Beside the dressing table was a red-painted closet with smaller red paper-cuts on each door. Then, two new pairs of red shoes, a large photo of the bridegroom and the bride in a red dress, some red stickers of plants and animals, and a reddish mosquito net lined with red ribbons, surrounded the reddest wedding bed. More interestingly, right in the middle of the quilt, a group of laced ducklings huddling round a pair of embroidered mandarin ducks, seemed a red hope of continuing the family line.
